Description

Woman just enjoying the snowfall. I'm really happy with the way this one turned out. It's my second tablet painting.

Done entirely in Corel Painter 12.

A big thank you to the beautiful :iconvalentine-fov-stock:. I used this photo [link] as a reference for the pose.

It's not a bad painting, by any means, and you're certainly better with faces as different angles than I am, so I'm definitely envying you on that front. The arm on the right looks a little short, at least in comparison with the other one. But apart from that, the structure and anatomy look pretty good. The background looks lovely as well.

The colors on the woman look a bit flat, though. I'd suggest that this is probably because there's not a very good contrast between the shadows and midtones, and not much in the way of highlights (Not that I can talk; a walk through my gallery and you'll see that soft shading's not a skill of mine, at least not one that came easily.). I'd suggest adding a little more contrast in the shadows to give it a bit more depth and liveliness, as well as add some color to the shadows themselves. Highlighting certain key features (tip of the nose, cheekbones, hair) also really helps in giving your painting an extra dash of life to it.

Overall, though, it's not half bad. Nice work.
